Employees and Education

EVN pays special attention to its employees. In the past period, the Company has implemented a number of successful projects in the area of responsibility towards employees.

Makedonski Brod Training Center

The nature of our everyday activities is rather specific and inevitably exposes our employees to various types of risks and challenges. Therefore, one of our strongest commitments is the care for the health and safety of our employees. In Makedonski Brod, we have built a state-of-the-art Training Center designed to help our employees overcome challenges in their daily activities.

The Center consists of completely equipped 2,500m2 outdoor space and 550m2 specially designed premises. The facility is equipped as follows: outdoors exercise grounds equipped with low-voltage and medium-voltage grid, compact substation, meter boxes, exposition area with materials for grid installation, premise with educational resources and occupational health and safety equipment, informative exhibits for environmental protection, classrooms and common areas for boarding and hygiene.

Еmployees and students from technical schools from all around the country acquire practical skills and knowledge in the area of electrical engineering by using educational contents, and special emphasis is placed on quality and occupational health. Also, in the training center, knowledge tests are conducted regularly, in order to ensure that our employees are constantly progressing and improving their skills.

Bring Your Child to Work Day

Once a year, EVN opens its doors to employees’ children. During the summer, after the end of the school year, employees' children are invited to visit their parents at work. The Educational Programme called “Bring Your Child to Work Day” has been organized since 2016 throughout the territory of the country, in all organizational units and companies within the EVN family.

Annually, the programme includes around 200 children who have a unique opportunity of spending 8 hours at their parents' jobs, of taking part at educational workshops, doing experiments, and just socializing and having fun. The children can also visit the "Matka" Exhibition Center.

EVN Volunteers

The “EVN Volunteers” programme started in the summer 2017 and its objective is to mobilize employees into engaging in projects designed to advance the quality of life of local communities. The Programme has a double objective - encouraging volunteering in the country overall and encouraging volunteering spirit in employees, and providing a valuable contribution to society.

Volunteering activities have taken place in all cities and settlements, engaging more than 500 employees. Employees’ efforts have been directed towards rehabilitation of schools, kindergartens and facilities for care of special categories of citizens, repairing damaged electrical installations, landscaping, cleaning and waste selection, organizing educational workshops for children, knowledge transfer activities, cooking etc. The uniqueness of this Programme lies in the fact that it represents a systematic solution to volunteering in the Company.
