With the investment worth 2 million euros, the Shtip 1 substation (TS 110/35/10 kV) has been completely reconstructed and successfully put into operation in the electricity distribution network. With this, in addition to increasing the reliability of the electricity supply, it is also possible to connect new consumers and producers of renewable energy in the Shtip region.

"The accelerated dynamics of construction of production facilities from renewable energy sources in the vicinity of Shtip is one of the main reasons for this extensive investment in the electricity distribution network. Our goal is to enable a reliable and stable supply of electricity to users, but also to support and encourage local economic development and the production of green energy," said Sasho Saltirovski, executive manager of Elektrodistribuciјa.

"The investment activity of Elektrodistribuciјa is planned to intensify during 2024 and reach 74 million euros. Always keeping in mind the needs of the users, a series of projects are planned to increase the quality of the power supply, as well as the digitalization of services and the modernization of the electricity distribution network," said Matthias Schеibelreiter, executive manager of Elektrodistribuciјa.

The upgrade of the Shtip 1 substation involved the reconstruction of the existing 10(20) kV plant with expansion and commissioning of new 10(20) kV cells with new primary and secondary equipment, relay protection and remote control of the same, reconstruction of 35 kV transformer cells and part of the 35 kV output cells and replacement of the existing ones with new primary connections to the power transformers. Also, a one of the transformers was replaced and new relay protection was installed for both energy transformers 110/35/10 kV ETR1 and ETR 2 with automatic voltage regulation and activation of the tertiary coil and the second energy transformer.
