EVN Macedonia completed its challenge for high school girls "Connection4skills" by awarding prizes to the best participants, symbolically on International Women's Day. This challenge involved 3rd and 4th year students from all secondary schools who are eager to learn more, develop their skills in the technical sector and demonstrate their qualities through various projects.

The first prize winners from both the team and individual challenges received monetary prizes of 100,000 denars each, the second prize winners received new laptops, and the third prize winners received tablets.

During the event, the high school girls were addressed by the President of the Management Board of EVN Macedonia, Mr. Wolfgang Maier and the manager at EVN Macedonia Elektrani, Mr. Sasho Stojkoski.

Out of the 80 applications, more than 50 schoolgirls participated in the project and received eight weeks of paid training for the development of digital skills and were invited to participate in training on communication skills and collaboration skills. They also participated in a workshop on effective website content creation and had the opportunity to meet female managers as well as company employees. In addition, the schoolgirls acquired additional knowledge about energy, especially from renewable sources.

For the team challenge, 8 teams of 3 female students each were formed who submitted project websites on the topic of renewable energy sources and were evaluated by an independent evaluation board, composed of external experts. In parallel to the teamwork, 28 schoolgirls participated in the individual challenge, in the form of a quiz, on the topic of renewable energy sources through a microlearning application.

For almost a whole decade, EVN Macedonia has invested intensively in promoting gender equality in the company and outside. Our goal is to inspire female students to continue their education in technical sciences, to prepare them even before entering the labor market, as well as to encourage the greatest possible involvement of women in the energy sector and at all hierarchical levels in our company.
