The only electricity museum in the country, the "Matka" museum of EVN Macedonia, has reopened to visitors as of today. The first day of the new season was marked by an event on energy efficiency, where experts from the company explained why the reasonable use of energy is of particular importance. Scholarship holders of the company at the technical faculties and students from the dual education classes of EVN in SETU "Mihajlo Pupin" participated in the all-day event.
Through the exhibits with a multimedia and interactive approach, the participants got acquainted with the concept and history of electricity, production, transmission, distribution and supply. During the event, they received a lot of advice on saving electricity and using it wisely.
The global energy crisis has awakened great interest among citizens of all age groups to be informed about energy efficiency and saving, and it is in this Exhibition Center that visitors can learn more about these topics. The contents of the "Matka" museum are in Macedonian, Albanian and English, and the entrance is free.
The "Matka" Exhibition Center was opened in 2017. The facility is located in the building of the old Matka hydropower plant in Skopje. So far, a total of about 20,000 visitors have visited it. The center is the winner of the "Museum of the Year" award given by ICOM (International Council of Museums) - Macedonia, as well as the National Award for Social Responsibility, given by the Ministry of Economy.
