Electricity educational project through the program “EVN Volunteers”

26.11.2021

Within the program "EVN Volunteers", employees of EVN Macedonia implemented a volunteering project in order to educate young people about the history of electricity development. The project was carried out in the premises of the exhibition center of EVN "Matka", and the group of twenty young people are beneficiaries of the Daily Children Center at the Association for Protection of the Rights of the Child. The electricity exhibition center "Matka" provides greater education and through interactive exhibits tells the history of electricity in the country, as well as the changes that occurred with the electrification. At the same time, through an innovative multimedia approach, the exhibits offer a unique opportunity for education and interaction.

EVN Macedonia with this volunteer action joined the initiative of the association "Social Friday" which aims to turn Friday afternoon hours into socially responsible practices, through the aim of having employees that work in offices, go out and carry out volunteering actions for the benefit of local communities.

"EVN Volunteers" is a project of EVN Macedonia that officially started in July 2017 as part of the company's long-term social responsibility strategy. A total of 52 actions were realized in large groups throughout the country, and over 500 employees have participated. One of the main goals of this project that is still ongoing, is to raise awareness among individuals and companies that we all have special qualifications and abilities that we can use to do good in the communities in which we live.
