As of today, a fast charger for electric vehicles is in use at the Makpetrol gas station in Vizbegovo. This device is the first of ten new fast chargers that, in partnership with EVN, will be installed at frequent locations throughout Macedonia.
"EVN made the earliest efforts for the development of electromobility in Macedonia. In the last 7 years, we have installed around 40 electric vehicle chargers in public spaces in 17 cities across the country. Our efforts continue with a strong focus on fast charging, as the main prerequisite for the seamless mobility of electric vehicles over longer distances. The cooperation with Makpetrol is very important to us - we share similar values, and through their widespread network of pumps throughout the country, we can get closer to our customers" - stated Wolfgang Maier, President of the Management Board of EVN Macedonia.
In 2022, a fast charger for electric vehicles was installed at the Makpetrol gas station near the Bogorodica border crossing, also in cooperation with EVN. A photovoltaic power plant that produces electricity from renewable sources has already been installed at this location.

"Care for the environment is among Makpetrol's strategic goals and is included in our annual plan through the "Green Agenda". Within these activities, the company will invest in environmental protection in various ways. The installation of 10 fast chargers will contribute to the development of electromobility in the country and will bring us closer to modern forms of transport. It is particularly significant that we are implementing this project in partnership, together with EVN. Such collaborations are extremely significant, if not decisive, for the realization of the green future of Macedonia" - says Andreja Josifovski, President of the Management Board of Makpetrol.
The new installed chargers have DC connectors of the CCS type with a power of 150kW and are intended for fast charging of one or two electric vehicles. The model is among the most efficient in its class, it allows quick and easy charging with a duration of 30-40 minutes depending on the type of vehicle.
EVN and Makpetrol demonstrate their care for the environment in various specific investments in the field of "green" energy. Both companies, in addition to electromobility projects, also install photovoltaic power plants for the needs of their own facilities. EVN is upgrading its fleet of electric vehicles and investing in renewable energy production, and Makpetrol will continue to expand the autogas and methane (CNG) network by investing in retail facilities.
