Yesterday, EVN Macedonia hosted a working visit by the Austrian Federal Minister for Europe, Integration and Family, Mrs. Claudia Plakolm. The delegation also included the Minister of Energy, Mining and Mineral Resources of the Republic of North Macedonia, Mrs. Sanja Bozinovska, as well as H.E. Martin Pammer, Ambassador of the Republic of Austria, accompanied by representatives from the Austrian Embassy.
During the visit, the guests were introduced to EVN Macedonia’s achievements and investments in recent years, with special emphasis on digital solutions and the development of modern energy technologies.
Particular interest was shown during the visit to the dispatch center – the central point for digital management of the national distribution network.
The Chairman of the Management Board of EVN Macedonia, Mr. Wolfgang Maier, emphasized that the laws and regulations being developed within the newly established Ministry of Energy are progressive and fully aligned with the European market, which positions North Macedonia on the European energy map, even though it is not yet an EU member state.
The Minister of Energy, Mining and Mineral Resources, Mrs. Sanja Bozinovska, highlighted that EVN Macedonia serves as an example of how a foreign company should cooperate with state institutions – by investing not only in its core business but also in the wider community.
The Austrian Minister for Europe, Integration and Family, Mrs. Claudia Plakolm, expressed her satisfaction with the visit, noting that she was positively impressed by the synergy between the private and public sectors, as well as by the way institutions in the country create conditions that support and promote successful business operations. She pointed out the cooperation between the Ministry of Energy and EVN as a positive example.
During the visit, both sides emphasized the long-standing cooperation between Austria and North Macedonia in the energy sector, which represents a successful example of knowledge exchange, experience sharing, and best practices.
As part of the Austrian EVN Group, EVN Macedonia remains committed to investing in modernization, digitalization, and sustainable development, with a clear goal – a secure, efficient, and green energy future for all customers.
