The employees of EVN Macedonia volunteered within the framework of the biggest environmental action in the country for cleaning up waste "GENERALKA WEEKEND 24". The forty volunteers were collecting waste at the location around the "Matka" hydropower plant and the "Matka" Exhibition Center.
Joining this action reflects the company's continuous contribution to minimizing negative impacts and increasing positive impact on the environment and society as a whole.
"The partner role of EVN Macedonia in this project is proof that we are fully committed, we establish the principles of sustainability in all our activities and we responsibly use the resources entrusted to us to preserve our living environment for future generations.
We recognize the key role in promoting environmental, social and governance principles and compliance with ESG standards. Responsibility for the development of the sustainability strategy is a priority at the highest corporate level, and it is our duty to contribute to a sustainable environment and create a green future for the country," said Deputy Chairman of the Board of EVN Macedonia, Mr. Jürgen Fleischhacker.
EVN in all its activities encompasses the principles of sustainability and strives to improve the quality of life of citizens. Energy and environmental protection are interrelated segments and our goal is to contribute to raising public awareness of proper collection, selection and disposal of waste. In this direction, we implement various projects for the protection of biological diversity, waste management, management of equipment containing polychlorinated biphenyls (PCB), soil, water and groundwater protection.
